It's becoming a common situation in the AFL where players are delisted but there is a promise for them to be re-drafted.
Usually this works out, but there is rare cases such as when Gold Coast made a vow to pick up Hugh Greenwood but North Melbourne snared him first.
The Sporting News lists all the players that have been delisted with a promise to be re-drafted by their clubs.
