Richmond should make a trade play for West Coast wonderkid Harley Reid, according to an AFL icon.
The 20-year-old's future is arguably the no.1 topic in the AFL currently with his contract to expire at the Eagles when the 2026 season concludes.
While the Eagles feel that Reid will sign a contract extension, it's understood other clubs believe he will seek a trade to Victoria at the end of the current season.
Hawthorn and Essendon have been the club's strongly linked with the no.1 pick from 2023 draft, but an AFL pundit duo believe Richmond should throw their hat in the ring.

The Tigers are currently undergoing a rebuild but have capital in salary and draft picks to tempt the Eagles into releasing Reid, including two likely top 10 picks - their own selection and North Melbourne's first-rounder.
"Two top fives and a future? I’d want something back if I’m Richmond. But I’m a believer, I’m a buyer in Harley Reid," Ex-St Kilda star Leigh Montagna said on Fox Footy.
"I think he is a generational talent. I’d be giving up at least two first rounders, I’d be happy to give up a third if I got something back in return. I would, I’d do it."
Montagna continued: "They’re still speculative [draft picks], you don’t know. We’ve seen some picks three and four that aren’t very good… I’d take Harley Reid, I’d take the risk."
The Tigers were tipped to struggle to win a game in 2025, but have three wins from their first 11 games, securing the points against Carlton, Gold Coast and West Coast.
Richmond will be hunting their fourth win of the season when they face GWS Giants at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday.
