The SCG has yet again come under fire for its poor condition, with one AFL coach saying it was like an Indian cricket pitch.
Geelong won by 43 points against Sydney on Sunday, winning (16.5) 111 to (10.8) 68 to guarantee a top-four finish.
But that wasn't the main story of the day, with Cats coach Chris Scott blasting the SCG in his post-match press conference.
Scott said the ground was sub-standard for what an AFL game should be played on.

"I know there has been a lot of rain up here, but it's the contrast between a quite soft area outside the centre square and the pretty rock-hard centre wicket area. That's just not conducive to AFL football," Scott said.
"The strange part with so much rain is that (the centre square is) covered all the time, and you've got this baked... it looked like Mumbai out there."
Scott added that the centre wicket was covered when the Cats trained there on Saturday.
"Not sure there's much point having a training session the day before when the pitch is covered. It's pretty much the reason we're here," the two-time premiership coach said.
Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir also slammed the SCG pitch before his side took on Sydney in June but had problems with the left hand side of the ground.
"We can’t put players out there and risk their safety if the ground is not right, and I thought it was a bit unsafe the other night, especially down that left-hand side." Longmuir said in a press conference.
There are no remaining matches at the SCG for the remainder of the AFL season with Sydney not making finals, it will be interesting to see if there are any changes to the ground before next season.
