2023 Premiership player and Collingwood stalwart Will Hoskin-Elliot has announced that he will retire at the end of the year.

Hoskin-Elliot has played 242 games across his 13-year career with Collingwood and GWS.

He was selected at pick 4 in the 2011 AFL draft and was named in the side for the Giants' first match in the AFL.

Hoskin-Elliott thanked the Pies and Giants in a statement released by Collingwood.

“I’m proud and honoured to call myself a Collingwood player, and I have loved my time in the black and white. I leave with incredible memories, lifelong friendships, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of this season holds for us,” Hoskin-Elliott said.

“Thank you to GWS, who gave me my first crack at AFL football, and to everyone at the Pies who have welcomed me and my family – there’s something special about seeing the kids run around the rooms after a game.”

Hoskin-Elliott was traded from the Giants to the Pies for a second-round pick in 2016 and has played a pivotal role for the Pies since coming across.

He will still play an important part for Collingwood, who will aim to go deep into finals and replicate their 2023 premiership win.

The premiership Pie joins a long list of great players to announce their retirement, including Carlton's Sam Docherty, Fremantle's Nathan Fyfe and Port Adelaide's Travis Boak, to name just a few.
