Two key Magpies re-sign as one record looks set to be broken image

Collingwood has signed two premiership Magpies on new deals before their finals run in 2025, with one Pie set to break a record in his new contract.

Scott Pendlebury is set to break the record for most V/AFL games played as he has signed on for another year at the Magpies.

Pendlebury has played 421 games for the Magpies and is closing in on the V/AFL record of games played, which is 432 currently held by Brent Harvey.

Darcy Cameron has put his future to bed, signing on for three more years past his current contract, which ends next year at the Pies, with the new contract ending in 2029.

In a statement on Collingwood's website announcing the new contract, Cameron said he was grateful for the Magpies' support of him.

“With a single game under my belt when I arrived, to now playing over 100, the Pies put their faith in me and I’ll be forever grateful for the growth and opportunities I’ve had since arriving at the Club," Cameron said.

“Recommitting to Collingwood was an easy decision. This Club means a lot to me, and now feels like the right time to commit again. We have such a special group here, from the players to the coaches and all staff, and I can’t wait to see what we achieve over the coming years.”

There were rumours that Cameron may choose to go back to his home state of Western Australia, with the West Coast Eagles looking like the likely option had that happened.

Collingwood is currently sitting in third position on the ladder, with the second through to eighth separated by only one game, with only two games remaining in the season.
