Adelaide star Izak Rankine could miss the AFL finals series after an investigation was started into an alleged homophobic slur.
Rankine allegedly directed a slur toward a Collingwood player during their three-point win at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
The AFL's Integrity Unit will investigate the allegations and come to a decision sometime this week.
Adelaide are set to appear in the finals for the first time since 2017, and are one of the favourites to win the flag as they close in on top spot with just one round remaining.

A suspension for Rankine could see him ruled out for the rest of the season, or even until a possible grand final appearance.
How long could Isak Rankine be suspended for?
A four-match ban or more could see Rankine miss the entire finals series, depending on how deep the Crows go in the post-season.
With Adelaide a lock to receive a double chance, they could play either four or five matches from to win the AFL premiership - which is based on whether they win or lose their qualifying final.
A five-match suspension would 100 percent end Rankine's season, while a four-match ban would only allow Rankine to play in the grand final if they lost the qualifying final and then qualified for the decider.
West Coast's Jack Graham was the last player to be suspended for a homophobic slur - receiving a four-week ban.
However, there has been several different lengths of suspension for players found guilty of using homophobic language.
AFL suspensions for use of homophobic language
- Jack Graham (West Coast) - 4 weeks
- Riak Andrew (Sydney) - 5 weeks
- Lance Collard (St Kilda) - 6 weeks
- Wil Powell (Gold Coast) - 5 weeks
- Jeremy Finlayson (Port Adelaide) - 3 weeks
